Via Yahoo Tech News / NewsFactor, Acer, AT&T and RadioShack are offering an AspireOne for $99 with a 2 year AT&T DataConnect mobile-broadband service agreement.
I couldn’t find it at AT&T’s site, but RadioShack has some info here.
Based on the specs shown, 160gig HD, 1gig RAM, XPHome, I’m guessing it’s essentially the Aspire One A150-1049 with a built-in 3G card.

Via AspireOneUser ~8 hour 7200mAh batteries are now available. The link at AspireOneUser is to the UK eBay site, but the one below goes to US eBay. They seem to average around $80, which doesn’t seem too bad to me.

Update 01/14/2009: Prices seem to be trending downward in the month since this post originally appeared. It looks like ~$65 will get you a battery now.

It’s the gift giving season, so while fighting my way thru the crowds at a couple big box electronic stores, I thought I’d check out HDMI cables. I don’t own anything nearly new enough to use the cables, but they’d make a nice present for someone who does.
That is, until I saw the prices! I guess the logic is that since you’ve already paid that much for a TV another $100 for a cable doesn’t seem so bad.
Anyway, I’m collecting links to people who are selling HDMI cables at reasonable prices, or at least more reasonable than the retail prices I saw. If you know of any others, please let me know in the comments.

Amazon has a HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet) for $4.54!

Maybe it’s just me, but I find it hilarious that the Sidney Daily News has blocked Yahoo’s Local page from displaying their content.
